Is there any reason why you have to have a seperate pump for the live bait tank compared to a deck wash?????

Is it possible to run the both off the same pump???

I spoke to the guy at BAIS and he thought it was possible but didn't know why they always sold two pumps in the kits. They both work off the same pick up????

appreciate any advise.

haven't seen the kit you mentioned but would imagine you don't want the same volume of water for your bait tank as for the deck wash. It is hard enough keeping fish alive without battering them to death with water. I have just one for the bait tank and it is very low flow rate compared to my bilge pump which would be similar to your deck wash

You could use the same pump. I'm going through a bait tank set up right now.

There are some pros and cons though.

If you use a deck wash pump, it will be higher pressure, but if you restrict the inlet to the live well the fish won't be battered. Just use the right outlet with an adjustable flow regulation.

Problem I found with the deck wash pumps is that they are not really waterproof. wiring, and nuts / bolts are all very subject to corrosion so the pump must be kept in a very dry place.
