hay guys caught a yellow-tailed grunter the other day
didnt hav a clue wat is was at first(so i let it go)
does anybody know about them?
how big they grew, eating qualities etc.?

ahh no sorry
hav also seen mine called a yellow-tailed trumpeter not sure bout it though

Hey Deepsea

I see you are from Perth. Did you catch it in the Swan River?

I haven't fished the Swan for many years, but used to catch Yellow tailed grunter there, often when fishing for Black Bream. From memory they aren't too bad to eat.

do u know any size limits for them

I think they were somewhere about 23 - 25cm. Don't quote me though, it was a long time ago.

Size limit in East coast = 30cm and bag limit is 30

In Gulf size limit = 40cm and bag limit's 10

(those figure cames from my memory) if i made error please correct...;)
