If you have an ally boat, you can have the transom raised.
Just make sure they also raise the gussett.

every thing is possible at a cost. The cost factor would be govererned by how the outboard well is attached to your transom. Some have a moulded section over the transom and some have a metal strip, my thoughts are that system would be the easier and cheaper to do. What you need to do is get the quote to make the change and add that to the cost of the motor with the 26" leg and then see if there are any motors with a standard leg that are around the sum total. There is also the add benifets of a 26" transom.

Cost me $350 to have stainless steel plate made up to raise the transom of my hydrofield by 5 inches. Michael at Coorparoo Marine organised it. Very good job with reinforcing gussets.

Well if it is possible , then i will get it done , around $350 would be nice.
I will line up some quotes , my dad is selling me the motor (he is going inboard) so I'd be hard pressed to find a cheaper solution. The Yammy is superb and will be a nice change from my Suz 115 (86').
Thankyou to all who replied !! Pete.;)

Pete do a Google search on jackplate's or setback brackets, some of the most simple designs are nothing but 4 pieces of angle, 2 bolted through the original boat engine holes then the other two bolted to the engine mounts then each are bolted together at the height of the chosen lift.

And if all else fails, just get your dad to sell the motor to me to replace my 1988 100hp. :)
