If the DNR allows water usage past the 'dead water' level, the stocked fish in Boondooma could be up a certain creek without a paddle: http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,21189976-952,00.html

They will be in trouble before then, 5% or lower they will start to struggle.

In defence of the poor sods that live out that way, it's a god forsaken dust (chalk?) pit, and they really do need that water. I sure hope it rains soon.

Yeah problem is its that great big coal burning mongrel that is sucking up all the water, not the locals.

G'Day guys, my family and I were at the Boondoomba yellowbelly fishing comp this weekend just gone. The fishing was very hard work especially without any local knowledge. There was plenty of fish caught however, they were saying that if they don't get any rain the water supply to Tarong power station will run out around November. It was terribily dry and very hot especially on the saturday. But in ther defence they ran a great comp with heaps of prizes. None of which I was able to win but hey thats life. Basil2

Yeah not good! But the fish should hang in till 2%..... hope so!! The dam got down to 1% back in aprox 1994 and the fish made it OK.
