If those pics don't convince folks to wear glasses while fishing, nothing will. What a not fun way to spend your day. Yeeeeouch!

Couldn't agree more....

I had a laser sharpened hook straight through my thumb, the eye would be insanely painfull.

sickening!

I don't know what he is smiling about.
I am not sure how you could do that to yourself, he was probably an innocent bystander, flattened barbs would have been nice and handy.

My dog picked up a slug in his mouth once, that was painful (for both of us).

Been there done that! Hook deep in hand.

Very rusty trebble hook on a lure, with lively bass attached, bass released unhurt, I had to go to hospital.

Your subject title could have read " Body Peircing" fishing style. I wonder if he left a "stud" in its place? Don't ever want to go there!!

Seahunt I reckon he's probably been dosed right up on the old pain killers. Its the only reason I could think anyone in his position would be smiling!

Cheers

had a set of trebles thru my finger, all the way past the bend of the hooks with a pretty fiesty giant herring on the first set of trebles jumping around everywhere, drove myself to the docs with the lure still in my finger, couple of locals and he cut it out, drove myself back to have another go at the buggers.

Mate, he'd have to be....

If anything is stuck in your eye, the body's natural reaction is to blink (at least the image looks like it's in the eyeball); make's you wonder what hurt more if it is in the eyeball - the needle for the anesthetic or the treble :o

Wahoo

Synful,, I magnified the image the treble is through the top eyelid just above the puple.. When I got a steel splinter stuck in my eyeball they used a numbing drops to deaden the eye. You cant feel a thing for 10 hrs after that..

Dunks The lure looks like a wonder wobbler type Slug

The goose in the picture says it all, That may be a bit unfair - I don't know him.
Similar thing and a word to the wise -
Pulled into Dohles Rocks boat ramp after day out mid January. Not too busy but as I walked to the car heard a kid screaming for his Dad near the boat ramp. Apparently two brothers ( Iwould think 6 or 8) decide to PRACTICE casting lures whilst Dad got the trailer.
Third treble couldnt be sighted - to far embedded in cheek/teeth. Ambulance called.
End result NO FLATHEAD just a cheek bone.
Dads be careful !!!!! Keep gear out of reach or cant blame the kids.
Young fellow didnt make a fuss - just said to his dad when questioned about the drama "Brother and I just practicing cast!!!!"
Kids - dont you love em!!! I would have been screaming till the cows come home.
Pete
The third treble was not to be seen. Don't know how he kept it together.

Name the lure.

i dont think he knew what the lure was either
he was goin in for a closer look
wouldnt mind using the lure though
it seems to be attracted to getting stuck in things
how did he get it stuck there though???
