What's the best way?

Looking at all the stuff that gets stolen makes me shiver! I have a new trailer and after looking at this forum I bought a wheel clamp. This might make somebody think twice but I wonder how hard it is to get the clamp off.

I also have a new outboard so I think I will have to lock it in some way. It's a 30hp Yammy. Maybe I should just go to a dealer and buy an outboard lock but I don't even know if these are any good.

Any ideas?

When i lock up my boat i usually do one or all three of the following.

1. I put a pad lock on the hitch, i have a hole where the pad lock locks on to the hitch when its closed.

2. Thick heavy chain, goes through the holes in the rim and gets wrapped around the trailer and back through 2 or 3 times then 2 padlocks go on in spots where it would be hard to get boltcutters.

3. Chain around the leg of the motor and onto the trailer, its an older motor but it doesnt damage it at all. Then its all pad locked on. (you can get plastic coated chains also)
