Hey.

I was just wondering if leg stockings can catch crabs? Someone told me that they use stockings and the crab's claw gets stuck to the material. Also I'm just wondering if I put a perforated can of oily tuna in each leg of the stocking would that be an efficient bait to attract them? Any feedback is much appreciated.

Cheers,

keenfisha. ;)

used to throw fish heads and scaps in a stockings and use to catch crabs as you have been told they tangle themselves

I wasn't going to go there either BUT if you have crabs in your stockings you could try dousing your nether regions with rum and sprinkling sand on the area. The crabs get drunk, become belligerent and stone each other to death.;D

I've caught quite a few with the stocking method but with flesh bait. It's just a little bit of a help when hand lining for crabs.
