Hi
I've got to wonder aloud why the prices of outboards have not fallen in recent times when the aussie dollar has risen against the Yen and the US$. :-/
The A$ has consistently been up around 10% against both, I am yet to see the prices fall or have I missed it?
something to chew over this long weekend
cheers

when prices need to go up they go striaght away
when downward pressure they linger
just watch the petrol prices

Yep Dave thats my point.
I don't see it as a dealer issue.
I perceive the problem to be at the importer distributor level >:( . The A$ to the Yen is one A$ buys 93 odd Yen. Year or 2 back it was A$ buying 82 yen and similar stuff with the US$. I can not recall the prices having adjusted since they were adjusted upwards when the A$ was around 65c to the US$
It would probably take one, at most 2, to take 'account' of the favourable currency level and the others would follow.
other way it could happen, would be if one had a significant increase in market share and others had to lower prices to regain some market share
They say hope springs eternal and no I will not be holding my breath for it to happen
