No bass do not breed in dams. This is why fresh fingerlings are constantly being put into dams. Each year around june/july they do a spawning run down into brackish water to breed. Same applies for barra and a few other fresh water species. I'm not sure how their plumbing works as ive never kept bass before but if he was catching bass with eggs in them the eggs get reabsorbed if they do not breed. This is one reason why bass and barra grow so quickly in impoundments.
