Awoonga bush camping

Thinking of going to Awoonga in the next few weeks.
Have heard you can bush camp "over the other side"
How do you get there? -- by car, boat? Do you continue past the boat ramp -- how far?
Are there fees?

Whiting..The bush camp is down the Monto Rd...easy to get too...Turn off the Bruce.Hwy at the Calliope Crossroads ..go through Calliope..... keep going .about 5 ks from Calliope.... you will see a signpost that says Monto turn left go down this road about 30 km There is a very small sign on the left ...."Bush camp" No fee ... just toilets ... you can put your boat in about a k back but be warned the water is low lots of stumps ,logs just under the water.. there is some photos of the area in the Aushfish camping section

just come back from haveing alook at hte bush camp at awoonga and its pretty rough no place to put aboat in without alot of trouble and i mean alot its just not worth the agro i stayed at willow grove and it was great and went to the dam dayly and had mudcrabs and barra it was too easy
