have seenheaps on this dam lately and am giving it some consideration as a destination in june with the nippers in tow.can anyone tell me if it tradionally shut down for the winter or could the young fellas build some muscles there?

I pretty much asked this question a couple of months ago and got some really good info. If you want to check out the replies i got go back a couple of pages and look for my post titled Stocked Impoundments Information. I will be at Awoonga for the first time on the 2nd May and have organised a charter with Johnny Micthell to learn how to do it and will then spend a few more days having a go on my own. It is not cheap but on reading of his exploits on this site I reckon it will be well worth it given that I will then be spending all of May and June heading north to Cooktown and fishing Peter Faust, Tinaroo and Burdekin Falls at the very least - maybe more as well as plenty of wild fishing as well........ only 6 weeks to go
