But if you're thinking of using them as livebait, they're not very hardy and will die fairly quickly,

better off using Banded Grunter lightly pinned through the back ;)

Yeah, heaps of them there, but I found them a bit harder to catch than those in the North Pine dam (where I get mine for eating and bait supplies). I was berleying with bread and using small pieces of prawn flesh for bait but they weren't greatly interested in either. Next time I might try some dough

If you want to catch em you drive along at night in the dark and spot them with the dolphin torch they lay in the light ina daze as if they are asleep and you simply scoop them up with a net ;) I recon a slow trolled gar wouldnt last to long but i dont have a livie tank :(
