Pulling The Plug On Split Rock Dam ?

There was a bit of talk at our fishing club meeting tonight about Split Rock Dam . Apparently State Water in all their wisdom are going to do a bulk release and drop the water to 3% by the end of this week. No doubt this is to benefit downstream users , but I bet there won't be much left by the time it gets out west.
Anybody heard much about this? I wonder what sort of impact this will have on fish stocks in the dam .

I have heard this too. Very sad as I spent a fair wack of my early fishing years around Upper Manilla and Split Rock. Hope the fish that are left can cope with the drastic change!
