Hi
Been losing a few big tailor while live baiting for striped bass.
It's about the same situation as fishing for Jewies, the strike rate is greatly diminished if you use wire, or a heavy mono leader.
After getting chewed off yet again by a big tailor (3 big runs against a 5kg drag), I went searching for an alternative.
Found this.

Anyone used this or similar? Care to comment or offer suggestions for leader material that would not scare off jewies/stripers, but at the same time will keep the toothy mob on the line.
Thanks
Tom.
PS: Bag limits and conservation pay off, big time.
Recent catches of striped bass on Long Island are showing major increases in numbers of greater size and weight than over the last few years, since bag limits and sizes were mandated.
This sport fishery is returning to it's former glory.
