New Rod

G'day guys,
I've been given an Abu Garcia Ultra Cast Pro by a friend and I'm not sure whether it's meant for threadlines or overheads. Anyone know about this type of stuff?
It's model UPST661SWM 6' 6" 1 piece boat rod medium action 6-8kg. It's got 9 guides on it as well. If anyone's got a clue I'd be greatful.

if it had a trigger grip on it, id say a baitcaster rod, but it sounds like a spin rod..
