This Murray Cod was caught 6/10/97 by my 6 year old son Mitchell, weighing 26.3 lb (12.41 Kg) on 3 Kilo line, using a Shimano casting rod and Shimano CR-200 reel and trolling a green Blitz Baga lure. Caught in one of our South East Queensland impoundments, it took 7 mins to land. This fish has been claimed as a national junior sportfishing record.
