When winding line onto the spool make sure
that the line is spread evenly across the spool. This is done by guiding
the line onto the spool with the index finger of the hand holding
the rod. Hold the line with your index finger and guide the line from
one side of the spool to the other with a slow back and forward motion.
This will ensure the line is layed evenly across the spool and ready
for the next cast.
If the line is wound onto the spool as
illustrated in the Wrong image, you may experience having a number
of coils of line leaving the face of the spool at once whle casting.
This will reduce the casting distance and may result in tangled line.
